Silvercraft Jeweled Cigarette Box

Antique Jeweled Cigarette Box 1920s Ormolu Filigree Silvercraft Vintage Vanity Art Deco Boudoir.

What a great piece of vintage tobacciana! A wonderful box to hold your cigarettes, playing cards, jewelry or other tchotchkes on your vanity.

The rectangular box is fitted with two hinged compartments with a wood lined interior and possesses richly garnished intricate filigree set with glass jewels. The handle also displays filigree motifs and jewels. Measures 7.25" long, 3.75" wide and 1.75" tall (without the handle) and 5.25" tall (with the handle).

Marked underneath with "Silvercraft" and "367" along with pseudo hallmarks.

The hinge is broken and the lid needs to be re-soldered back on by a jeweler. The gilded finish looks as if it was repainted at some time.

This is an item from my personal collection of jeweled filigree vanity accessories dating to the 1920s period. All photos are my own.

The Farber Bros. Company sold silver plated, brass, copper hollow ware items under the name Silvercraft from 1923-1932, this mark you are most likely to encounter would be Silvercraft and some pseudo-hallmarks underneath it.
